“I strongly believe in gay rights, but I really hate that people want Disney to have a gay couple. I think it would just be so wrong to incorporate into their movies. I can’t even explain why to myself, but I just really hope it never happens.”
This, I’m all for their rights and I respect their preference.
Also, why why does it matter so much if it were in a Disney film? Kids can learn about sexuality in another way, it doesn’t have to involve Disney.
I agree. o-o; Especially when this subject of sexuality is WAY too sensitive and controversial of a subject to touch on in this time of era. Plus, people constantly suggesting movies put non-hetero couples in their movies seems a bit forceful…let the producers and directors make their own choices, sheesh. It’s like telling an artist what to draw, and trust me, it takes INSPIRATION for an artist such as I to even draw. :I;
In a way, making movies is also an art. Don’t shove it, just wait until they’re inspired… :U
why did i even look through the notes for this disaster. honestly, there’s nothing controversial about my sexuality there’s nothing wrong with people wanting representation in mainstream media. it doesn’t have to be disney. it could be anything else. this is why lgbtq characters and ~non-hetero~ pairings are not accepted as anything but a novelty or something ~strange and different~
because people have this kind of reaction to them. please stop. it’s like you can’t possibly see lgbtq characters and pairings existing alongside heterosexual pairings, being portrayed as normal, alright, and just as valid as two straight people.
and wow @ thinking that people longing to see themselves represented properly in the stories they love is “forceful.” ok.
Clearly you are not for gay rights OP, because you are still extremely homophobic. If you think it’s “wrong” to represent a non hetero couple in Disney, or whatever, then yes you are homophobic. You are saying it’s wrong to be anything but straight. And people like you, and all the people who agreed, are the reason it’s still seen as some radical idea.
A media company as big as Disney should represent everybody and that shouldn’t be seen as some radical notion. It should be the norm. Because hey guess what? A gay relationship is every bit as “normal” as a hetero relationship.

A woman’s body is a beautiful work of art and it is her choice and her choice alone how much skin she wishes to show. Dehumanizing a woman and labeling her a “slut” or “whore” with no morals based on that choice is not a negative reflection on her, but on the bigot who is judging her.

vh1:
“Pass The Bowl” is VH1’s ongoing interview series, wherein celebrities contribute questions to our bowl and fellow celebs later draw a question.
Jenna Ushkowitz: If you could be any animal what would you be and why?
Regina Spektor: Maybe a whale. I feel like it’s a very slow motion animal and a mammal but gets to live in the water. I think it’s probably nice to be that big and slow.
Regina’s Question For The Bowl: If you remember your dreams - what’s one of your favorite ones?
Big Morning Buzz Live returns to VH1 on June 4th!
